I think that Christian Hopkins photos are very powerful and give out a strong message. These photos show that depression makes you feel trapped and you're not yourself. They show that they take over you and you loose control of ypurself. One of his photos (the one with the zip on the woman's throat) Interprets suicidal thought, the urge to kill yourself  E.G. by slitting your throat.
